The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team won its second straight game on Saturday as the Chargers defeated Wilson, 5-0 at Charger Field. The victory moves the Chargers to 8-4 overall and 7-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference action, while Wilson drops to 5-9, 2-7 NEAC.
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible took control of the game immediately as senior
Alyssa Wesner scored 6:44 into the contest to give the Chargers an early advantage. The Chargers doubled their lead 11 minutes later as junior
Raegan Horst converted a penalty kick to give Lancaster Bible a 2-0 lead. Wesner was taken down in the box on what looked to be a clean tackle, but the referee thought otherwise and awarded the Chargers with a PK. Horst stepped up and drilled her shot into the right-hand side of the net, off of the goalkeeper's hands and into the back of the cage.
The score remained 2-0 through halftime, but the Chargers put the game away during a 17-minute span midway through the second half as Lancaster Bible scored three times. Senior
Brianne Lieb netted her first goal of the season at 56:21 and Horst scored her second of the game 12 minutes later as she drilled a free kick from 35 yards out that went up and over the goalkeeper. Junior
Rachel Kumher scored her second of the season at 73:23 to cap the scoring and send the Chargers to their eighth win of the year.
