The Lancaster Bible men's volleyball team opened North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Saturday and earned a split as the Chargers defeated Wilson, 3-0 for the second time in a week before falling to Penn St. Altoona, 3-0. The Chargers are now 3-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play.Â

Kasey Gentry led the Chargers with nine kills, while
Derek Bigley and
Nick Eberly each had seven kills. Bigley paced the Chargers with 10 digs, while
Garyd Martin and
Nick Eberly each had two aces. Martin also led the Chargers with 18 assists.
Penn St. Altoona, 3, Lancaster Bible 0The Nittany Lions bested the Chargers in three sets by the scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-12. Gentry once again posted nine kills and added four digs.
Joshua Rotz added three kills, while
Timothy Meyer added 11 assists.
Timothy Meyer had a team-high 11 assists for the Chargers.
Penn St. Altoona had 38 kills against just seven errors on 62 attempts, while the Chargers had 17 kills against 10 errors on 61 attempts.Â
Lancaster Bible returns to the court on Wednesday when the Chargers host Stevenson (3 p.m.) and Penn St. Altoona (7 p.m.) in a non-conference match. The Mustangs and Nittany Lions will play at 5 p.m.
