The Lancaster Bible men's volleyball team snapped a six-match losing streak on Friday night as the Chargers swept Medgar Evers, 3-0 in Brooklyn, N.Y. The Chargers are now 4-10 this season as they defeated Medgar Evers for the second time in 2016.
Lancaster Bible won the match, 25-12, 25-14, 25-14 and was led by
Derek Bigley and
Kasey Gentry who each had a team-high six kills. Gentry also had six of the Chargers' 10 aces and the six aces in one match are the second-most in Lancaster Bible men's volleyball history.
Daniel Kreider added four kills on five attempts, while
Caleb Strite,
Sky Woelkers,
Joshua Rotz,
Nick Eberly and
Timothy Meyer each chipped in with three kills.
Freshman
Garyd Martin had 16 assists in two sets, while Meyer added eight in the lone set he played. As a team, Lancaster Bible had 31 kills on 67 attempts against just 12 errors for a .284 attacking percentage.Â
Lancaster Bible will stay in the New York City area as the Chargers take on John Jay and York (N.Y.) on Saturday in Jamaica, N.Y.
