The Lancaster Bible Women's Lacrosse team's rest over spring break benefited the Chargers as they used their rest to run past Cedar Crest and claim the victory, 17-8, and move their record to 2-1.
How it Happened: The Chargers opened up the game by scoring the first six goals of the game as they controlled the pace.
Myranda Kemrer scored the first goal of six at the 26:32 mark. Junior Rebekah Kelly scored the second goal and the first of her collegiate career off a pass from
Naomi Otis.
Alyssa Wesner scored three in that run and
Naomi Otis had the other. Cedar Crest scored two goals before half but the Chargers scored four themselves with
Cheyenne Benson scoring her first of the year with 0:21 seconds remaining in the half to bring the halftime score to 11-2 in the Chargers favor.
The Chargers used that goal right before half to gain even more momentum as Wesner scored again just ten seconds into the half. The Falcons played tough and physical against the Chargers and wouldn't go away, but the Chargers continued their goal scoring as Senior
Katherine Moran had two goals and Freshman
Hannah Thompson had two of her four goals in second half. The Chargers would get the final goal of the game with 1:21 left to win 17-8.
By the Numbers: The Chargers continued with great offense numbers as they had 43 shots, 36 of which were on goal which ties a program record...They held the advantage in ground balls with a 12-7 advantage and draw controls 17-10 advantage...Wesner led the team in goals with 4 and 3 assists, Thompson had 4 goals which is a career high in a game for her...The Chargers had seven players score a goal with five scoring more than one...
Nicolette Statuti had 7 saves...This is the first time in program history that the Chargers are over .500...The Falcons were paced by Regina Gill who scored 5 goals.
