Lancaster Bible junior pitcher
Kelsey Collins threw her second-ever no-hitter on Friday afternoon as the Chargers steamrolled Rosemont, 21-0 in game one and took game two, 9-0. In addition to Collins' two no-hitters,
Emily Coffman is the only other Lancaster Bible softball pitcher to ever throw a no-hitter. Friday's wins improve Lancaster Bible to 4-6 this season and the Chargers have now won three games in a row.
Game 1
Lancaster Bible 21, Rosemont 0 (5 innings)How it Happened: The Chargers scored in each of the five innings and kicked things off with a four-run first inning. After
Ali Morton struck out with the bases loaded, the runners took off and all were safe as
Julia D'Arrigo stole home and scored the game's first run. A Rosemont error led to two more runs before
Samantha Denson capped the inning with a run-scoring double to make it 4-0.Â
A two-run home run from
Courtney Koser in the second inning made it a 6-0 game and RBI singles from Denson and D'Arrigo in the third moved the advantage to 8-0 after three innings. Lancaster Bible sent 11 batters to the plate in the fourth inning as the Chargers scored seven runs on five hits. Koser reached base twice in the inning, the first time via a walk, the second time on a two-run double that made it 15-0 in favor of the Chargers.

Lancaster Bible scored six more times in the fifth inning as Collins helped herself with a two-run double that made it 21-0. In the circle, Collins was brilliant as she allowed just two walks and struck out five and moved to 2-3 this season.Â
By the Numbers: D'Arrigo finished 4-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI, while Koser was 3-for-3 with four runs scored and four RBI...Koser reached base safely in all five of her at-bats and she is now batting .400 this season with 10 hits in 25 at-bats...Collins was 3-for-3 as was Denson who also knocked in three runs and scored one run...Burkholder and Kane each had two hits and scored three runs apiece as well.Â
Extra Bases: Emily Coffman's no-hitter came almost a year ago as she no-hit Penn St. Abington on April 6, 2015...Collins first no-hitter came on April 5, 2014 against St. Elizabeth.
Game 2
Lancaster Bible 9, Rosemont 0How it Happened: Lancaster Bible jumped on Rosemont early again as Burkholder's two-run single in the first inning gave the Chargers an early lead. The Chargers scored five more times in the second inning, highlighted by D'Arrigo's two-run home run that scored Kane. Lancaster Bible scored once in the third and fourth innings as well and won it in five innings again.
D'Arrigo pitched well in game two as she scattered five hits and struck out two en route to improving her record to 2-3 this season.
By the Numbers: Kane was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and finished her day 5-for-7 with five runs scored and two RBI...Senn was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Burkholder drove in three runs in game two.
