The Lancaster Bible women's lacrosse team saw their winning streak come to a halt, as they ran into a tough Cazenovia College team. The Chargers came in winning four in a row and the Wildcats came in with a perfect conference record. Sadly, for the Chargers it was the Wildcats that would stay perfect and the Chargers will need to regroup with a quick turnaround tomorrow. With the lose the Chargers drop to 8-6 overall and 4-3 in conference, while the Wildcats move to 8-4 overall and 6-0 in the conference.
How it Happened: The Wildcats got the best of the Chargers at the beginning as they came of the gate strong, and quickly scored the first three goals of the game. The Chargers
Hannah Thompson would stop that run for the Wildcats, as she would give the Chargers their first goal at the 22:20 mark in the first half. The Wildcats would go on to score the next two however, and take a four goal lead. However, in less than an eight minute span the Chargers would go on to score four goals and shock the Wildcats in the process, while evening the game at five. The Chargers would get two goals from
Myranda Kemrer, as well as a goal a piece from Thompson and
Katy Stover. With her goal Stover picks up her first collegiate goal and point. The Wildcats would score the next goal and regain the lead, but it wasn't last long as the Chargers would even the score at six with
Naomi Otis scoring the goal off a pass from
Ana Kurashige. That would be all the closer the Chargers would get though, as the Wildcats would go on score seven goals in a five minute span to take a 13-7 lead at half.
The Wildcats picked up right where they left off in the first half, as they would go on to score the first two goals of the half. However, the Chargers would get back on the board with Stover picking up her second goal of the game. Sadly, that would be the only goal the Chargers would get in the second half, as the Wildcats would go on to score the next seven goals. The Wildcats would win by a final score of 22-7.
