The Lancaster Bible softball ran its losing streak to three on Saturday as the Chargers lost both games of a doubleheader to North Eastern Athletic Conference leader Penn St. Berks. The Chargers dropped game one, 4-0 and lost game two, 12-3 in five innings. Lancaster Bible is now 14-19 overall and 5-11 in conference play. Penn St. Berks meanwhile improves to 26-3 overall and stays perfect in NEAC play at 16-0. The Nittany Lions have won 20 straight games and the Chargers figure in four of those victories.
Game 1
Penn St. Berks 4, Lancaster Bible 0
How it Happened: Penn St. Berks scored once in the bottom half of the first inning and kept its one-run lead all the way until the sixth inning as Lancaster Bible pitcher
Kelsey Collins and the Nittany Lions' Jessica Rozick engaged in a pitching duel. The Chargers didn't get their first hit until the top of the fifth as catcher
Samantha Denson led off with a triple. A walk to Collins followed to put runners on the corners with nobody out, but Rozick showed why she is now 12-1 this season and worked out of the jam with two strikeouts.
Zoie Senn had the other Lancaster Bible hit in game one as she tripled with two outs in the top of the sixth, but Senn was stranded on base as Rozick struck out
Courtney Koser, one of 15 strikeouts for Rozick during game one. The Nittany Lions finally got to Collins in the sixth as they plated three runs and secured the 4-0 victory in the seventh.
Inside the Box Score: Collins scattered five hits in six innings and just one of the four runs allowed was earned...Collins also had five strikeouts as she and many of the Chargers battled through injury to play on Saturday...Seven different Lancaster Bible players struck out two times...Five different Penn St. Berks players had a hit.

How it Happened: The Chargers got on the board first in game two as they scored twice in the first inning thanks to RBI singles from Denson and
Ali Morton. Penn St. Berks answered in the bottom of the first with six runs as they chased Collins who started game two as well.
Julia D'Arrigo replaced Collins and got out of the first, but the Nittany Lions eventually got to her as well.Â
The teams each scored a run in the second as Koser hit a sacrifice fly for the Chargers, but the Nittany Lions scored five times in the fourth inning to make it a 12-3 game and though the Chargers put two runners on in the fifth, they could not score and extend the game.
