Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse | | Mitchell Strauser

Chargers Fall in Last Regular Season Game

The Lancaster Bible women's lacrosse team had one more regular season game before the playoffs, and were looking to end on a good note. Bryn Athyn came into this game trying to end their season on a high note. It was Bryn Athyn that would get the best of Lancaster Bible and win the game 12-10 in cold weather conditions. With the loss Lancaster Bible falls to 8-8 overall and 4-5 in the conference, while Bryn Athyn moves to 3-8 overall and 2-6 in the conference.

How it Happened: The Chargers would open the scoring just a little over three minutes into the game as Alyssa Wesner was able to take the pass from Myranda Kemrer and find the back of the net. However, the Lions would go on to score the next two goals and erase the Chargers lead to take a lead of their own. When the 19:07 mark hit in the first half the Chargers really turned it on as they were able to score three goals in less than a minute to take a two goal lead. Wesner would score two of the goals, while Naomi Otis had the other. The Lions would respond though, as they were able to score two goals of their own to tie the game at four. The Chargers would get the next goal just 13 seconds after the Lions tied the game, but just like that the Lions responded as well with a goal to tie the game again. The Chargers would score the next two goals as Wesner was able to find the back of the net twice to get her fifth and sixth goals of the half. The Lions and Chargers would each get one more goal before the break, as the Chargers went into half up by two goals with the score being 8-6.

The Lions came out firing on all cylinders in the second half as they would score the first three goals of the half to take a one goal lead over the Chargers. The teams would go on a scoring drought for almost 12 minutes, before the Chargers were able to get on the board with Kemrer scoring off a beautiful pass from Cheyenne Benson. The Chargers would get one more goal from Hannah Thompson, but sadly that is the last goal the Chargers would get in the game. The Lions would go one to score the last three goals of the game to win by the final of 12-10.
