Chargers Drop Fourth Straight

The Lancaster Bible baseball team lost its fourth straight game on Tuesday as the Chargers fell to Cairn, 3-1 in Langhorne, Pa. Lancaster Bible is now 8-10 this season, while Cairn improved to 9-8.

How it Happened: Cairn got on the board in the bottom of the first, after Lancaster Bible loaded the bases in the top half of the inning, but couldn't score, as the Highlanders scored on a wild pitch to make it 1-0 and Chase Hunt singled later in the inning to double the home team's lead to 2-0. The Chargers had base runners in the second, third and fourth innings, but couldn't push any runs across the plate.

Cairn extended its lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth as Brett Marks hit a two-out single that scored Keith LeNoue. Lancaster Bible finally got on the board in the seventh inning as Josh Mayer doubled home Braden Elliott to make it 3-1.

The Chargers brought the tying run to plate later in the seventh inning, the eighth inning and the top half of the ninth inning, but couldn't convert any chances and lost, 3-1.
