The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team returned to non-conference play for the first time in two weeks on Wednesday and though the Chargers played well for 90 minutes, they ultimately came up short as Franklin & Marshall scored with 1:18 left in the game to earn a 1-0 victory at Tylus Field. The loss snaps the Chargers' six-game winning streak and drops their record to 6-3 this season, while the Diplomats improved to 4-5.
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible and Franklin & Marshall played through wind and rain for much of the game as most of the contest was played in the midfield with few scoring chances. The Chargers managed three corner kicks in the first half and four shots, but just one registered on goal and was turned away by F&M goalkeeper Nicole Savidge.
The Diplomats turned the momentum a bit in the second half as they registered six shots on goal in the final 45 minutes, but the Chargers still played right with F&M. With regulation winding down, a ball was played toward the Lancaster Bible goal. The ball went through the box and somehow found the foot of Emily O'Hara who was behind the play. O'Hara deposited the ball into the back of the net as Lancaster Bible goalkeeper
Kaitlyn Scheuing had come out to try and play the ball.
The goal came with 1:18 to play and Lancaster Bible could not register another scoring chances before time expired.
