Chargers Bounce Defenders

The Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team earned its first victory of the season on Saturday as the Chargers topped Clarks Summit, 3-0 at Charger Field. The Chargers are now 1-1 this season and have defeated the Defenders six straight times.

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible opened the scoring just 10:32 into the contest as junior Michael Oyenuga scored his first goal in a Chargers uniform. Oyenuga took a great pass from Brendon Dooley and scored to into the left-hand side of the net to give the home team the early advantage.

Just over nine minutes later, Dooley raced down the left sideline and broke in towards the goal and his shot deflected off of a Clarks Summit defender and into the back of the net to double Lancaster Bible's lead. The score remained the same until late in the first half as sophomore Eric Bailey was able to control a clearing attempt by Clarks Summit and blasted the ball from outside of the box into the back of the net to give the Chargers a 3-0 lead.

Both teams had scoring opportunities in the second half, but neither could convert and the Chargers secured their first shutout of the season.
