The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team earned three victories this weekend at the Knight Invitational held on the campus of Arcaida University. The Chargers defeated host Arcadia on Friday night and then took down Wilkes and Cairn on Saturday.

Lancaster Bible 3, Arcadia 1
22-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-19
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible struggled in the opening set as the Chargers committed 11 errors en route to a 25-22 first set loss. The Chargers played much better in the second set and won a hard fought set, 25-22. The second set was tied at 22-22, but two errors sandwiched around a kill from freshman Kole Horst, gave Lancaster Bible the set.Â
Lancaster Bible kept its momentum through the third set as well as the Chargers cruised to a 25-16 victory. Up 2-1 in the match, Lancaster Bible led by just three, 9-6, early in the fourth set, but won 10 of the next 13 points to take a 19-9 advantage and eventually won, 25-19.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 45 kills, while Arcadia had 37...Junior
Kasey Gentry led the Chargers with 16 kills, 10 digs and three aces...Horst added 10 kills, five digs and two aces...Senior

Information Hodge Podge: For the second straight match, Lancaster Bible took on an opponent playing its first-ever match in program history, thus the Chargers are now 1-0 all-time against Arcadia...The Chargers have lost the second set just once this season (5-1).

25-20, 25-22, 25-21
How it Happened: The teams exchanged 5-0 runs to open the first set, but Lancaster Bible took six of seven points midway through the opening set to turn a 12-11 lead into an 18-12 advantage. The Chargers closed out the set and used a late comeback in the second set to take a 2-0 lead. Trailing 19-18 in the second set, Lancaster Bible won five of six points to gain a 23-21 edge and won the set, 25-22. The Chargers sealed the win by taking a 23-15 lead late in the third set and hung on after a late Wilkes run, to win, 25-21.
By the Numbers: Eight different players recorded a kill for the Chargers, led by Gentry and Kreider who each had six...Gentry also had five blocks, while Ansell had four blocks, three kills and 21 assists...
Joshua Rotz added two kills, while Bigley had four kills.
Information Hodge Podge: This was the first meeting between the teams and the Chargers are now 1-0 against Wilkes...Lancaster Bible had a season-high 10 blocks.

How it Happened: The first set went back-and-forth and Lancaster Bible clung to a 21-19 lead late in the set, before winning the last four points and taking the set, 25-19. Kills by Horst and Faust got the run started and after an ace from Rotz, the Chargers won the set on an error by Cairn. The Chargers jumped on the Highlanders early in the second set and held off a late rally to win the second set by the same score as the opening set. Lancaster Bible put its foot on the gas in the third set and cruised to a 25-16 victory and its first-ever win over Cairn.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible held the advantage in kills, 36-27...Horst led the Chargers with 11 kills and also added three aces...Kreider added nine kills and three more blocks...Gentry had eight kills, 10 digs and two blocks...Solano had six digs, while Bigley added three kills and two aces.
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 1-22 all-time against Cairn, breaking a streak of 22 straight losses against the Highlanders...Coming into Saturday, Lancaster Bible had won just six sets against the Highlanders in the previous 22 matches...Gentry had 30 kills, 25 digs and nine blocks in three matches this weekend.
