The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team saw its three-game unbeaten streak come to an end on Tuesday night in the Nation's Capital, as the Chargers lost to Gallaudet, 2-1. The Chargers are now 4-8-2 overall and 3-2-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Bison improved to 7-5 overall and 3-4 in conference action.
The Big Moments:
-As was the case for almost the entire game, Lancaster Bible threw the kitchen sink at the Gallaudet defense and goalkeeper, but couldn't get the ball across the goal line
-Lancaster Bible fired 17 shots towards the goal in the first half and had five corner kicks, but the teams went into halftime knotted at 0-0
-After the Chargers had almost all of the scoring chances in the first half, Gallaudet scored twice in the first 6:15 of the second half to take a 2-0 lead...Gallaudet's first goal came off a free kick at 47:58 and then Brittany Mallach scored her 17th goal of the season off a rebound at 51:15
-Following the two goals, Lancaster Bible once again took control of the game, but continued to come up empty
-With 1:29 remaining, senior
Raegan Horst finally found the back of the net for the Chargers to cut their deficit to one
-Lancaster Bible had a corner kick and two shots in the final 36 seconds of the game, but couldn't get the equalizer and lost for the first time in four games
