The Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team lost its second straight game on Thursday afternoon, falling to Rutgers-Camden, 7-1 in the team's final non-conference game of the season. The loss drops the Chargers to 6-8-2 this season, while the Scarlet Raptors improved to 8-7-3.

Jared Jordan's header that hit the crossbar, and scored into an open net at the 6:01 mark to give the Chargers an early lead. The lead lasted just over nine minutes however, as Joni Gjyleri tied the game with his fourth goal of the year off a pass from Chris Taraska at 15:34.
Rutgers-Camden took the lead 3:42 later when Vincenzo Masitti took another pass from Taraska and scored into the back of the net for his fourth goal of the year. Skyler Diggs made it 3-1 Scarlet Raptors at 31:01, after he found the ball in front of the net after it bounced around between several different players. Diggs scored again 2:32 later, as he was left alone on the back post and netted a feed from Patrick Grudnick.Â
Freshman Gregg Williams scored the first goal of his collegiate career with 2:54 remaining in the first half to make it 5-1, as the Chargers faced their largest halftime deficit of the season.
The Scarlet Raptors wasted little time extending their lead in the second half as Diggs completed his hat trick at 48:48 and Connor D'Ilio scored his first goal of the season 1:18 later to complete the scoring.

Information Hodge Podge: This was the first meeting between the two teams...This was the first time the Chargers have given up seven goals in a game since Nov. 12, 2016, when Grace (Ind.) defeated Lancaster Bible, 7-1 in the NCCAA Div. I Midwest Region Playoffs...The six-goal home loss was the worst for the Chargers in almost 10 years, as the Charges lost 7-0 to Goucher on Oct. 22, 2007...Lancaster Bible is 3-3-1 at home this season.
