Lancaster Bible Ready for Gallaudet

For the seventh straight season, the Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team is headed to the North Eastern Athletic Conference Playoffs and for the third time in those seven years, the Chargers will meet Gallaudet, as the two teams meet in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday afternoon in the NEAC Quarterfinals.

How They Got Here:
Lancaster Bible: Lancaster Bible won six of its first seven NEAC contests this season and posted a 4-2 mark in NEAC South Division play to secure the third seed in the South Division…The Chargers have played plenty of good teams this season, including Gallaudet, and have struggled a bit down the stretch, dropping seven of their last eight matches.
 
Gallaudet: The Bison came on strong at the end of their season, winning five of their last eight matches, including victories over SUNY Poly and Lancaster Bible…The Bison finished 7-2 in NEAC play and 5-1 in NEAC South Division matches to secure the second seed in the South Division.

Regular Season Match: These two schools engaged in an epic match less than a week ago, as the Bison defeated the Chargers in five sets on Oct. 26 in Washington, D.C…Gallaudet won, 23-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-27, 15-13…In the match, Gallaudet had 60 kills, while the Chargers had 55…Lancaster Bible held the edge in digs at 104-90, and also held a 9-6 advantage in aces…Darriyan Thomas had a match-high 25 kills for the Bison, while Raelyn Fuechtmann had 26 digs…The Chargers were led by Hannah Gipe's 15 kills, while Ashtyn Bouslog (11) and Bekah Roberts (10) also posted double-digit kills…Senior Myranda Kemrer posted a program-record 46 digs.
 
Team Notes:
Lancaster Bible: The Chargers have played with a complete team effort all season long, as four players have 130 kills or more and six players have 115 digs or more…Hannah Gipe leads the Chargers with 241 kills, while senior Myranda Kemrer, the reigning NEAC Defensive Player of the Week, paces the Chargers with 486 digs, which is the second-most in the NEAC…Freshman Bekah Roberts' 82 blocks are tied for the ninth-most in program history and her 62 block assists are already the most in program history for a single season…The Chargers are 6-8 in true road matches this season and 7-12 in all matches away from Horst Athletic Center…Lancaster Bible has advanced past the NEAC Quarterfinal round just once in program history, that coming in 2012 when the Chargers beat SUNY Poly, 3-1 before falling to Gallaudet in the NEAC Semifinals.
 
Gallaudet: The Bison are led by Darriyan Thomas, the reigning 2016 NEAC Player of the Year and her 387 kills…Thomas also has 356 digs and 23 blocks for Gallaudet…Adele Daniels also provides strong play for the Bison, as she has compiled 279 kills and 261 digs to go with 271 assists…Gallaudet is the seven-time defending NEAC Champion and whether at home or on the road, the Bison know how to win in the postseason…The Bison are 10-0 all-time against the Chargers, including this season's 3-2 win.
