The Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team snapped a two-game losing streak on Sunday, as the Chargers defeated Penn College, 2-1 in double overtime. Sophomore
Dan Bewersdorff scored both goals for the Chargers who are now 5-6-2 overall and 2-1-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. Penn College dropped to 4-8 overall.Â
The Big Moments:Â
-After two shots went wide for Lancaster Bible, Bewersdorff pounced on a rebound at 19:47 and scored his second goal of the year to make it 1-0 in favor of the Chargers
-Lancaster Bible continued to pepper shots at the Penn College goal, firing nine in the first half
-Penn College finally tied the game with just over 14 minutes to play, as Mike Gonzalez headed in a corner kick cross to make it 1-1
-The Chargers had three late corner kicks, but couldn't convert
-Lancaster Bible had three shots and two corners in the first overtime, but couldn't find the back of the net
-With under two minutes remaining in the second overtime, Bewersdorff took a pass from junior
Jared Jordan and scored to give the Chargers the win
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible outshot Penn College, 21-10, including 9-4 in shots on goal...Bewersdorff's goals were his second and third of the season...Jordan's assist was his third of the year and he is now second on the team in assists this season...Senior
Thiago Naque made three saves for his fourth win of the season...The Chargers had 11 corner kicks, while the Wildcats had just three.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 3-1 all-time against Penn College...The Chargers defeated the Wildcats, 3-1 last season in Lancaster...Bewersdorff has seven career goals...Sunday was the second time this season the Chargers have earned double digit corner kick opportunities.
