The Lancaster Bible College softball team had a tough first day in Clermont, Florida as the Chargers managed just one hit over two games and lost to both SUNY Geneseo and UMass Boston. The Chargers are now 2-4 this season and will continue play on Monday against Rochester (1 p.m.) and Lasell (3:30 p.m.).

Game Notes: Sophomore Zoie Senn had the lone hit for the Chargers, which came in the fourth inning...SUNY Geneseo scored twice in the first and third innings and added a run in the sixth inning as well.

Inside the Box Score: Senn finished 1-for-3 for the Chargers...Senior Kelsey Collins pitched well as she scattered nine hits over six innings, allowing just two earned runs while striking out five...Lancaster Bible struck out nine times and Senn was the lone base runner.

Game Notes: Lancaster Bible was no-hit in its second game of the day, but the Chargers did open the scoring and led, 1-0 after two innings of play...In the bottom of the first, Senn drew a walk and senior Julia D'Arrigo reached on an error and Senn scored from first to give the Chargers the early lead...After being held scoreless in the first two innings, the Beacons exploded for three runs in the third inning and followed that up with a run in the fourth, two in the fifth and three more in the sixth.

Inside the Box Score: Senn finished 0-for-1 with two walks and a run scored...Freshman Martina McCauley and D'Arrigo pitched for the Chargers...McCauley took the loss, but pitched well, as she allowed five hits in three innings, but only let up two earned runs and struck out two.
