The Lancaster Bible College softball team continued its spring break trip in Florida on Wednesday and despite playing better, the Chargers lost twice, falling to Olivet and Western New England by the same 5-3 score. The Chargers are now 3-7 this season and 1-5 on their spring break trip that has seen them play tough teams from around the Northeast. Lancaster Bible wraps up its trip on Thursday when the Chargers will play Gordon at 8 a.m. and SUNY Geneseo at 10:30 a.m.

Olivet 5, Lancaster Bible 3
Game Notes: Lancaster Bible took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when sophomore Samantha Denson singled home Zoie Senn...The Chargers maintained the one-run lead until the top of the fourth when freshman Marissa Senn grounded out and sophomore Morgan Burkholder scored to double the Lancaster Bible lead...Olivet responded in the bottom half of the fourth and took a 3-2 lead...Olivet extended its lead to 5-2 in the sixth inning when Konnor Geiger hit a two-run home run...Lancaster Bible made a game of it in the seventh as Senior Julia D'Arrigo scored on an error to make it 5-3 and the Chargers had the tying runner on base with two outs, but could not plate the runs.

Inside the Box Score: D'Arrigo finished 3-for-4 with a run scored...Denson was 2-for-3 with an RBI...Burkholder and freshman Martina McCauley each had a hit as well for the Chargers...Senior Kelsey Collins pitched six innings for the Chargers, allowing four earned runs...She struck out three and didn't allow any walks.

Information Hodge Podge: This was the first meeting between the two schools...D'Arrigo had her second three-hit game of the season.

Western New England 5, Lancaster Bible 3
Game Notes: The Chargers got on the board first again as they scored twice in the bottom of the first...Zoie Senn scored an unearned run to open the scoring and D'Arrigo stole home later in the inning to give Lancaster Bible a 2-0 advantage...Western New England got a run back in the second inning and tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the third, but Lancaster Bible restored its lead in the bottom half of the third as D'Arrigo smashed a solo home run...The lead was short lived however as Western New England tied the game in its half of the fourth and plated two more runs in the fifth inning...The Chargers brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh, but couldn't make a comeback.

Inside the Box Score: D'Arrigo was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored...Junior Caitlin March was 2-for-3...Collins, Burkholder and McCauley each had a hit as well...Zoie Senn was 0-for-2 with two walks and a run scored...McCauley started and threw 2 1/3 innings, giving up just one earned run and striking out two.

Information Hodge Podge: This was the first meeting between the two teams...D'Arrigo's home run was her third of the season...The rest of the team has three home runs combined.
