Chargers Finish 2-1 at NEAC Weekend

The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team posted a 2-1 record at a North Eastern Athletic Conference weekend hosted by Penn St. Altoona on Saturday and Sunday. The Chargers avenged an earlier loss this season to SUNY Polytechnic on Saturday evening as the Chargers won, 3-0 and then split two matches on Sunday, defeating Keuka, 3-0 and losing to Wells, 3-1. Lancaster Bible is now 19-7 overall this season and 8-3 in NEAC play. The Chargers are currently tied for second place in the NEAC and are in a good position to advance to the NEAC Playoffs for the first time since 2014.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 30 kills against just 11 errors on 84 attempts for a .226 hitting percentage...Junior Kasey Gentry led the way with 12 kills, seven digs and two blocks...Sophomore Daniel Kreider added seven kills and no errors...Senior Derek Bigley had five kills, nine digs and two aces...Freshman Richard Solano had a match-high 16 digs.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 10-7 all-time against SUNY Polytechnic...The Wildcats defeated the Chargers, 3-0 earlier this season on Feb. 4...Kreider had at least five kills and no errors in a match for the sixth time this season.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 37 kills against the Wolves, but was a bit sloppy as the Chargers committed 27 errors...Gentry led the way again as he had 16 kills to go with seven digs and four blocks...Freshman Kole Horst added six kills and three digs, while junior Sky Woelkers had five kills and three blocks...Kreider also had five kills, while freshman Kaleb Ansell had 30 assists, four digs and two blocks...Solano once again had a match-high 13 digs.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 5-6 all-time against Keuka...The Chargers defeated the Wolves, 3-0 earlier this season on Feb. 4.

By the Numbers: Each team had 47 kills, but errors haunted the Chargers as they had 27 for the second consecutive match...Gentry and Horst each had 14 kills to pace the Chargers, while Horst added eight digs and two blocks as well...Kreider chipped in with seven kills and two blocks...Woelkers had five kills, six digs and an ace...Ansell had 32 assists, two kills and 10 digs...Solano led all players with 14 digs.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 4-6 all-time against Wells...The Chargers defeated the Express, 3-1 earlier this season Feb. 3...This was the seventh time this season the Chargers have had 47 kills or more in a match and Lancaster Bible is now 5-2 in those matches.

Up Next: Lancaster Bible returns to NEAC action next weekend when the Chargers take on D'Youville, Medaille and Hilbert in Hamburg, N.Y. on Friday and Saturday.
