Greyhounds Run Past Chargers

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team continued its pattern of alternating wins and losses on Wednesday night as the Chargers lost to Moravian, 20-9 in Bethlehem, Pa. The loss drops the Chargers to 3-3 this season, while the Greyhounds improved to 5-2.

How it Happened: Lancaster Bible opened the scoring just 1:35 into the game as senior Alyssa Wesner netted her 34th goal of the season. Moravian grabbed the momentum from there however and scored the next four goals over a six-minute span. Wesner scored again for the Chargers to stop the Greyhound streak, but it didn't last long as Moravian scored two more goals to grab a 6-2 lead with 19:57 remaining in the half.

Over nine minutes went by without a goal until Wesner scored with 9:57 left in the half to cut the Chargers' deficit to three. Moravian was quick to answer again though as Liz Bill scored with 8:05 remaining in the half and the Greyhounds scored three more goals in the next 2:30 to take a 10-3 lead. Wesner added another goal for the Chargers just before halftime as Lancaster Bible went to the break trailing, 10-4.

It was the Chargers again who opened the scoring to begin the second half as senior Naomi Otis scored 35 seconds into the half to bring the Chargers to within five. After back-to-back goals from Bill gave Moravian a seven-goal lead, Otis and Wesner scored 1:51 apart to again bring the Chargers to within five, but it would be as close as Lancaster Bible would get, as Moravian scored the next seven goals of the game over a 17-minute span.
