The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team opened its 2017 season in the win column as the Chargers defeated Bryn Mawr, 17-5 in Bryn Mawr, Pa. Saturday marks the first time in program history the Chargers won their season opener, breaking an 11-game losing streak.
How it Happened: Lancaster Bible wasted no time getting onto the scoreboard as senior
Alyssa Wesner scored 20 seconds into the game and junior
Myranda Kemrer followed 21 seconds later to give the Chargers a 2-0 lead just 41 seconds into the contest. Wesner added her second goal of the game 4:45 into the contest, while sophomore
Hannah Thompson scored less than 30 seconds after that to make it a 4-0 game.
The Chargers would eventually take a 9-1 lead later in the half as Kemrer added her second of the day. The Owls added another goal to make it 9-2, but the Chargers scored two more times before the end of the half and took an 11-2 lead into the halftime break.
Wesner scored the team's first three goals of the second half, before freshman
Barb Foster recorded her first collegiate goal with 16:34 remaining in the game. Fellow freshman
Hope Privitera added her first-ever collegiate goal later in the half as the Chargers kept the clock running and won by 12.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 2-5 all-time against Bryn Mawr and this is the first win over the Owls since April 1, 2010...The 45 shots on goal are a new program-record, eclipsing the previous mark of 42 set last season against Keystone...Saturday marked the sixth time in Wesner's career that she has had eight or more goals in a game.
