The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team lost its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday as the Chargers fell to Houghton, 14-9 at Charger Field. The Chargers are now 4-7 this season, while the Highlanders improved to 3-8.
How it Happened: In a game that featured two of the six highest goal scorers in NCAA Division III, Houghton's Jennifer Zacchigna and Lancaster Bible's
Alyssa Wesner did not disappoint as the two combined for ten of the 12 first-half goals scored. After Meghan Oswald opened the scoring 3:14 into the contest, Zacchigna scored three straight goals to give the Highlanders a 4-0 lead 5:42 into the game.
Wesner and Chargers fought back over the next 11 minutes as they held Houghton off the scoreboard and tallied three goals to cut the Highlanders' advantage to one with 13:05 remaining in the opening half. Zacchigna added two more goals later in the half, but Wesner netted her fourth of the game 1:47 before halftime and the Chargers went to the break trailing just 6-4.

Myranda Kemrer scored just 58 seconds into the second half to cut the Chargers' deficit to one, 6-5, but Zacchigna scored four times in the next nine minutes, compared to just one goal for the Chargers, and Houghton took a 10-6 lead with just over 20 minutes remaining.
