Chargers Storm Past Wolves

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team posted one of its biggest wins of the season on Friday as the Chargers defeated Keuka, 17-13 at Charger Field. The win improves the Chargers to 5-7 overall and 2-3 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while Keuka fell to 2-6 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

How it Happened: for the 10th time in 12 games, Lancaster Bible opened the scoring on Friday as senior Katy Stover gave the Chargers a 1-0 lead just 42 seconds into the game. Fellow senior Alyssa Wesner scored 36 seconds to double the Chargers lead, but Keuka scored the next five goals and held a 5-2 advantage into the middle of the first half.

Junior Myranda Kemrer got the Chargers back into the game with just over 15 minutes remaining in the half as she netted her 27th goal of the season. Wesner was at it again three minutes later as she scored the 70th and 71st goals of her season to tie the game at 5-5 with 11:52 left in the half. The Wolves retook the lead, 8-6 later in the half, but goals by senior Naomi Otis and junior Amber Moore with under five minutes remaining, knotted the game at 8-8 and the score remained tied at halftime.

Just like they had in the first half, Stover and Wesner scored the first two goals of the second half and gave Lancaster Bible a 10-8 advantage. Keuka cut its deficit to 10-9 and then 11-10, but the Chargers dominated the middle of the half and scored five goals in a six-minute span to grab a 16-10 lead.

Lancaster Bible had its lead shrink from six to three late in the half, but Wesner' s 76th goal of the year with 47 seconds left sealed the win for the Chargers.
