The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team opened its final weekend of the regular season with one of its toughest opponents of the season and the Chargers quickly found out just how good North Eastern Athletic Conference leader Morrisville State is, as the Mustangs scored seven goals in the first 8:41 of the game, en route to a 22-8 victory in Morrisville, N.Y. The loss drops the Chargers to 6-9 overall and 3-5 in NEAC play, while the Mustangs improved to 11-5 overall and 8-1 in conference play.Â
Lancaster Bible has not been eliminated from NEACÂ postseason contention, but the Chargers' hopes are on life support and Lancaster Bible will need a win on Saturday at Cazenovia and some help from other teams to secure the final spot in the next week's NEAC playoffs.
How it Happened: Morrisville State scored 1:30 into the contest and scored six more times in the opening 10 minutes. Chelsea McNeal, Courtney Cavellier and Gianna Branca each scored twice in the opening 10 minutes and the Mustangs quickly took a 7-0 lead. Lancaster Bible senior
Alyssa Wesner got the Chargers on the board with 19:03 left in the opening half, as she netted her 86th goal of the year.Â

Barb Foster also scored for the Chargers in the first half, but Morrisville State led, 14-3 at the break.
Foster scored twice in the opening six minutes of the second half and
Myranda Kemrer and Wesner also added two goals in the second half, but Morrisville State consistently had an answer and went on to win, 22-8.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible was outshot 33-24, including 26-20 in shots on goal...The Chargers trailed by just three in ground balls, 22-19 and Lancaster Bible had the draw control edge, 18-14...Wesner finished with three goals and an assist...Kemrer and Foster each had two goals and an assist...
