The Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team played into double overtime for the second time this week on Saturday, but unlike Monday's game at Gwynedd Mercy, things ended poorly for the Chargers on Saturday, as Lancaster Bible fell to DeSales, 1-0 in Center Valley, Pa. The loss drops the Chargers to 3-3-1 this season, while the Bulldogs improved to 7-1.
The Big Moments:

Rama Mugisha hit the crossbar just seven minutes into the second half
-Lancaster Bible had a shot and two corner kicks over a 2:04 span early in the second half, just minutes after DeSales threatened to get the first goal of the game

Vann Sutphin made two big saves with under 10 minutes to play in the second half
-The Chargers outshot DeSales, 5-1 in the first overtime, but could not convert one into the game-winning goal
-Just 58 seconds into the second overtime, DeSales' Justin Habick was taken down at the top of the box and earned a penalty kick...He scored past Sutphin to give the Bulldogs the win

Tom Ardt said. "We had great preparation today for what we can expect as we start conference play next week. We need to finish opportunites in the box as we go forward, but we created many chances today in a variety of ways. We'll keep growing and owning the process."
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 3-6-1 all-time against DeSales...This was the first meeting between the two schools since the 1986 season, when DeSales was then named Allentown College...The Bulldogs have won seven straight games since losing their opening game to Penn St. Behrend...The road loss was the first of the season for Lancaster Bible.
