Chargers and Eagles Locked at 1-1

The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team, fresh off its first victory of the season over Regent on Wednesday, played one of its best games of the season on Saturday, as the Chargers tied Eastern, 1-1 in St. Davids, Pa. The Chargers are now 1-5-1 this season, while Eastern is 2-3-3. 

The Big Moments: 
-The first half was scoreless, but Lancaster Bible sophomore goalkeeper Rheeana Miles made three saves in the first 25 minutes to keep the Eagles off the scoreboard.
-The opening 45 minutes were evenly played as the Eagles took six shots and the Chargers took five.
-The game remained scoreless until 81:45 when Lancaster Bible senior Raegan Horst scored her third goal of the season to give the Chargers the lead.
-Lancaster Bible held the lead for 6:30, but couldn't hang on for the win in regulation as Eastern's Carli Sitkowski scored with 1:49 to play to knot the score at 1-1.
-The Chargers had two shots in the opening overtime, but couldn't convert the game-winner.
-Miles made a save with 4:47 to play in the second overtime to keep Lancaster Bible in the game and neither team could find the back of the net, as the game ended, 1-1.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 13 shots, while Eastern had 11, but it was the Eagles who managed seven shots on goal, while the Chargers had six...Eastern had four corner kicks to the Chargers two, while the Eagles had two yellow cards and the Chargers had none...In addition to her goal, Horst also had a game-high six shots...Miles made six saves for the Chargers.

Information Hodge Podge: This was the first meeting between the two teams...Saturday was Lancaster Bible's first overtime game of the season, while Eastern has now played four overtime games this year...Lancaster Bible's last tie came on Oct. 24, 2015 when the Chargers tied Penn College, 1-1 in Williamsport, Pa.

Up Next: Lancaster Bible opens North Eastern Athletic Conference play with four-time defending NEAC Champion Penn St. Berks on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m...The Chargers will welcome the Nittany Lions to Charger Field for the first time in four years, as the teams played at a neutral site two years ago because of drainage issues at Lancaster Bible's home field.
