The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team stayed perfect in North Eastern Athletic Conference play on Sunday with a 69-59 victory over Keuka at Horst Athletic Center. The win is the third straight for the Chargers and they are now 11-4 overall this season and 7-0 in NEAC play, while the Wolves dropped to 7-7 overall and 5-2 in conference play.

How it Happened: The teams traded baskets in the opening minutes, before Lancaster Bible gave itself some breathing room with a 10-0 run over a four-minute span. Senior Herbie Brown had four of the 10 points, while junior Christo Majok and senior Austin Brown added 3-pointers.
Keuka hung close and eventually tied the game on a layup from James Barnes with 8:53 to play in the half. After a Lancaster Bible bucket, Keuka scored the next six points and took a 29-25 lead on a 3-pointer from Dylan Doupe.
Keuka led by as many as seven, 37-30, before an 10-1 run by Lancaster Bible to close the half gave the Chargers a 40-38 lead at halftime.
For all of the scoring in the first half, the second half was the opposite, as Lancaster Bible led just 44-40 four minutes into the second half. Back-to-back layups from freshman Britton Beachy and Alex Whitt, followed by two more free throws from senior Bill Livezey, gave Lancaster Bible a 50-42 advantage with 12:44 remaining
Keuka cut its deficit to four, but Lancaster Bible responded, and Herbie Brown's layup with 9:13 to play gave the Chargers a 57-47 advantage. Lancaster Bible took its biggest lead of the half with 5:17 to play on a thunderous dunk from Majok, and though Keuka cut its deficit to six, 65-59, with 1:48 to play, the Chargers withstood the Wolves' final charge, and finished off the 10-point win on a layup from Herbie Brown with 43 seconds to play.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible shot 25-of-53 (47.2 percent) from the floor, including 6-of-21 from 3-point range…Keuka shot 19-of-60 (31.7 percent) from the field and was 6-of-31 in the second half…Herbie Brown led the Chargers with 14 points, while Majok had 13 points, 12 rebounds and two assists…Jalen Archer was the third and final Lancaster Bible player in double figures with 10 points, and he also had four steals…Austin Brown added eight points and three boards for the Chargers…Greg Tyler had a team-high 13 points for the Wolves.

The Coach Says: "I thought our defense was excellent today," Lancaster Bible Head Coach
Zach Filzen said. "We put a lot of effort and time into making our defense what it is and the guys have bought in, and it's been a big part of our success this season."
On the team's emotional charge: "I thought Billy gave us a lot of energy midway through the game and his intangibles really helped today," Filzen said. "When he brings fight, the team brings fight."

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 6-3 all-time against Keuka…The Wolves won last season's game, 67-66 in Keuka Park, N.Y…The Chargers are 6-2 at home this season…The 30 rebounds for Lancaster Bible were the second-fewest in a game this season…The 69 points are the fewest in a victory for the Chargers this season, and this is the third time the Chargers have held a team to under 60 points.
