The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team ran its unbeaten streak to three games on Sunday, and in the process clinched a spot in the North Eastern Athletic Conference playoffs, as the Chargers defeated Morrisville State, 2-1 in Morrisville, N.Y. The victory sends the Chargers back to the .500 mark, as Lancaster Bible is now 6-6-2 overall and 5-3-2 in NEAC play. The loss drops the Mustangs to 6-10-1 overall and 5-4-1 in NEAC action.

Game Recap: After the teams traded shots in the opening five minutes, the Chargers got on the board early for the second straight day, as senior
Maddie Dionne scored her first goal of the year off a pass from
Maggie Arnold.

Lancaster Bible had two corner kicks and another shot just after the goal, but couldn't double its lead, and the Chargers held a 1-0 lead after 45 minutes of play.

The Chargers peppered the Morrisville State goal in the opening 15 minutes of the second half, as Lancaster Bible had five shots in the five shots towards the goal, four of which were on goal. And though Morrisville State was on its heels, the Mustangs hung tough, and tied the game at 1-1 at 72:53 on a goal by Angelina Rinaldi.

Lancaster Bible kept up the pressure and earned a corner kick at the 82:16 mark, and after setting up the play, Samantha Koons crossed the ball and found senior
Kiersten Hatch who found the back of the net, and scored her second goal of the season at 82:31.

The Mustangs had a late shot and corner kick, but couldn't convert, and the Chargers hung on to win, 2-1.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 7-1 all-time against Morrisville State…The Chargers clinched a NEAC playoff spot, but can still be either the fifth or sixth seed in the playoffs…A win in Wednesday's NEAC finale will clinch the fifth seed, however, even if the Chargers would lose on Wednesday, they will still play either Penn College or Cazenovia who are fighting for the third and fourth seeds…Dionne's goal was the third of her career.
