Chargers Maul Fighting Tigers

The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team won its second straight game on Saturday afternoon, as the Chargers defeated SUNY Cobleskill, 6-1 in Cobleskill, N.Y. The victory sends the Chargers to 4-5-1 overall and 3-2-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Fighting Tigers dropped to 4-8 overall and 1-5 in conference action.
 
Game Recap: Lancaster Bible started quickly on Saturday, as junior Maggie Arnold took a pass from senior Maddie Dionne and scored into the back of the net for her second goal of the year.
 
Arnold scored again just over 14 minutes later, as she converted a breakaway chance, and the Chargers held the 2-0 lead through halftime. Just over seven minutes into the second half, Bryanna Hoover scored her third goal of the year off a feed from Bryanna Stutzman.
 
Arnold completed the hat trick at 69:33, the first of her collegiate career, and Julia Hultstrand scored her first collegiate goal at 74:03 to make it 5-0 in favor of the Chargers.
 
SUNY Cobleskill got on the board at 78:29 when Nellie Ramsden scored, but Lancaster Bible restored its five-goal lead at 81:31 when freshman Kylie Murray scored her first collegiate goal.
 
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible outshot the Fighting Tigers, 34-2, including 20-2 in shots on goal…Lancaster Bible had 11 corner kicks, while SUNY Cobleskill had 2…Lancaster Bible goalkeeper Erin Mikula made one save to earn the win.
 
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 7-0 all-time against SUNY Cobleskill…The Chargers are 2-2-1 on the road this season…Lancaster Bible is outscoring opponents 16-9 in the second half of games this season…Arnold's hat trick is the first for the Chargers since Oct. 21, 2017 when Raegan Horst scored three times against Cazenovia…Arnold is now one of 15 players in program history to record a hat trick in a game...Arnold now has four goals this season, which is tied for the team lead with Kayla Hubbard…Fourteen different Lancaster Bible players have scored at least one goal this season.
