Semifinal Showdown

The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team is set for just its second-ever North Eastern Athletic Conference Semifinal match on Saturday, as the Chargers take on Wells at 2:30 p.m. in Morrisville, N.Y. The Chargers earned the second seed after going 9-2 in NEAC play this season, while Wells is appearing in the semifinals after defeating Keuka, 3-1 on Tuesday night in NEAC Quarterfinals.

Regular Season Meeting
Oct. 6, 2018: The two teams met in Lancaster as part of a NEAC Saturday, and this match was the second of the day for each team…After suffering its first NEAC loss of the season with a 3-1 loss to Keuka to begin the day, the Chargers stormed past Wells, 3-0 at Horst Athletic Center…Wells, which had defeated Gallaudet to open its Saturday, managed just 24 kills in the 25-19, 25-18, 25-21 loss to the Chargers…Lancaster Bible had 41 kills in the match, and held a 7-2 lead in service aces and a 4-2 edge in blocks…Junior, and NEAC All-Conference Third Team selection, Ashtyn Bouslog had 11 kills and eight digs to pace the Chargers, while junior, and NEAC First Team All-Conference selection, Allison Shuey had 32 assists and three blocks.
 
How They Got Here
Wells: The Express suffered just two losses in conference play, falling to the top two seeds, Morrisville State and Lancaster Bible, during the regular season…After losing to the Chargers on Oct. 6, the Express lost just two of their final nine games of October, and have won six of their past seven matches…Wells took the first two sets over Keuka on Tuesday night in the NEAC Quarterfinals, before dropping the third, but rebounded to win the fourth, 25-19 and advance…Jackie Allen had 12 kills to lead Wells, while Jazzmyne Williams had nine kills and 16 digs.
 
Lancaster Bible: The Chargers secured a bye into the NEAC Semifinals for the first time in program history, going 9-2 in conference play with losses to Morrisville State and Keuka…Like the Express, the Chargers went 7-2 the rest of October following the Oct. 6 matchup…The Chargers have played in the NEAC Semifinals the previous seven seasons of advancing the NEAC Playoffs, but have never advanced past the NEAC Semifinals.
