Lancaster Bible Opens NEAC Play with Win

The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team, playing its first match in two weeks, opened North Eastern Athletic Conference play with a victory on Saturday, defeating Wilson, 3-0 in Chambersburg, Pa. The victory improves the Chargers to 7-3 overall this season, and 1-0 in NEAC play, while the Phoenix fell to 4-1 overall and 0-1 in NEAC action.

By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible won the match, 25-15, 27-25, 25-16, as the Chargers posted big wins in the first and third set, and fought off a Wilson set point in the second set to earn the sweep...Lancaster Bible had 35 kills against just seven errors on 61 attempts for a .459 hitting percentage, while Wilson had 24 kills against 21 errors on 77 attempts for a .039 hitting percentage...Junior Nate Miller posted a match-high 19 kills, and also had four blocks for the Chargers...Sophomore Kole Horst added eight kills and two aces, while senior Kasey Gentry had three kills and two aces...Junior Daniel Kreider chipped in with four kills, while senior Sky Woelkers had a team-high five blocks...Sophomore Kaleb Ansell posted 33 assists, and junior Kurt Maysilles had six digs to lead the Chargers...Carlos Jimenez had 10 kills to lead Wilson.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 6-0 all-time against Wilson...This is the third straight season the Chargers have won their NEAC opener...The seven hitting errors are a season-low for Lancaster Bible.

Up Next: Lancaster Bible continues NEAC play on Sunday with a match at Penn St. Altoona at 1 p.m...The Nittany Lions are the defending NEAC champions...Lancaster Bible will also face Hiram on Sunday in Altoona, with the match scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
