NEAC Men's Basketball Quarterfinal Preview

The Lancaster Bible College men's basketball team hosts Penn St. Abington in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Quarterfinals Tuesday, as both teams look to advance to the NEAC Final Four this weekend.

How They Got Here:
Penn St. Abington: The Nittany Lions lost to Gallaudet on the final day of the regular season, and became the fourth seed in the NEAC South Division, while the Bison finished third…Penn St. Abington has rotated wins and losses over its past seven games, but one of the wins was against Lancaster Bible just six days ago in Abington, Pa.
 
Lancaster Bible: The Chargers were the only team in the NEAC to win 20 games during the regular season and were 15-1 in conference play to earn the NEAC Regular Season title…Prior to the loss to Penn St. Abington on Feb. 14, the Chargers had won 11 straight games, one of which included a victory over the Nittany Lions, 93-79 on Jan. 27 in Lancaster, Pa.

Feb. 14, 2018: Penn St. Abington dealt Lancaster Bible its only loss in conference play with an 84-76 victory in Abington, Pa…The Nittany Lions used a 12-2 run over the final four minutes of the first half to take a 46-32 lead into the break…Lancaster Bible answered back early in the second half with a 17-6 run over the first 5:20, and cut the Nittany Lions' advantage to 52-49…Lancaster Bible eventually took a few different leads, the final one coming at 76-75 after a 3-pointer from senior Herbie Brown with 2:28 to play…Penn St. Abington responded with back-to-back buckets and hit free throws down the stretch to earn the 84-76 victory…Herbie Brown led all scorers with 29 points, while Davis had 15 points…Devin Hill had 23 points to pace Penn St. Abington, while Jay Fitzgerald added 20 points and seven rebounds.
