The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team faced its second and third ranked opponents of the season on Saturday, and though the Chargers played well in parts of each match, Lancaster Bible lost to both #6 Kean and #11 Marymount by scores of 3-0. Lancaster Bible's record now stands at 6-3 this season, with all three losses coming to teams who are ranked in the AVCAÂ Division III Top 15 Poll.

Match Recap: After committing seven errors in the opening set, the Chargers played well in the second set, slamming home 14 kills against just four errors on 36 attempts...Despite the .278 hitting percentage in the second set, the Chargers trailed for much of the set, and though they closed the gap to 21-19, Lancaster Bible couldn't get over the hump and lost, 25-21...Kean (6-2) scored the first six points of the third set and never looked back, taking the third set 25-13.
By the Numbers: For the match, Lancaster Bible had 27 kills, against 16 errors, on 80 attempts for a .138 hitting percentage...Kean had 35 kills, against 10 errors, on 75 attempts for a .333 hitting percentage...Junior Nate Miller had 14 kills and four digs for the Chargers, while senior Kasey Gentry added seven kills and five digs...Fellow senior
Derek Bigley had five kills and four digs, and sophomore Kalen Ansell had 24 assists.

Match Recap: After dropping the first two sets, Lancaster Bible played well in the third set, as the Chargers and Saints engaged in a terrific final set...Lancaster Bible took an early 7-4 lead after a kill from Gentry, but Marymount won five of six points moments later and led 11-9...The teams exchanged points midway through the set, with the Saints holding a 21-19 lead after a kill from Evan Flesher...The Chargers responded by tying the match at 23-23 on an ace by sophomore Jacob Faust, and then fought off a match point at 24-23 to extend the match...Back-to-back kills from Gentry and Miller gave Lancaster Bible a set point at 26-25, but Marymount answered not only at 26-25, but at 27-26 as well...With the match tied at 27-27, the Saints got a kill from TJ Wiechecki, and then an ace from Tommy Garcia, to clinch the set and match.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible had 26 kills, against 18 errors, on 83 attempts for a .096 hitting percentage...Marymount had 46 kills, against 16 errors, on 108 attempts for a .278 hitting percentage...Miller led the Chargers with 18 kills, while Gentry had four kills, four digs and two blocks...Junior Kurt Maysilles had a team-high 10 digs, while Ansell added 22 more assists.
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 0-2 all-time against Marymount...The 26 kills were a season-low for the Chargers, but the six service errors were a season-low for Lancaster Bible.
