The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team lost its third straight game on Friday afternoon, falling to Eastern, 18-5 in St. Davids, Pa. The loss drops the Chargers to 0-3 this season, while the Eagles improved to 1-0.
1st Half Highlights:
-Eastern scored the first three goals of the game, but junior Hannah Thompson got the Chargers on the board at 16:25 to make it 3-1 in favor of the Eagles
-Thompson's goal would be the only one of the first half for Lancaster Bible, as Eastern scored the final eight goals of the half and took an 11-1 lead after 30 minutes
2nd Half Highlights:
-Kaitlyn Myers scored 31 seconds into the second half for the Chargers, and after an Eastern goal, senior Myranda Kemrer scored for Lancaster Bible to cut the Eagles' lead to 12-3
-Thompson scored later in the half for her second goal of the game, and senior Rachel Kumher scored her first collegiate goal with 28 seconds to play to cap the scoring for the Chargers
By the Numbers: Eastern outshot the Chargers, 31-17, including a 23-11 edge in shots on goal...Lancaster Bible scooped up 21 ground balls, while Eastern had 30...The Chargers held a 16-9 edge in draw controls...Thompson added an assist for the Chargers, and finished with three points...Junior Raegan Horst had four ground balls, and Thompson led the way with 11 draw controls.
