The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team lost its fourth straight game on Saturday, falling ot Wesley, 18-4 in Dover, Del. The Chargers, still in search of their first win of 2018, fell to 0-4, while Wesley set a new program-record for wins to start a season, and improved to 6-0.
1st Half Highlights:
-After Wesley scored the first three goals of the game over the opening 12 minutes, Lancaster Bible senior Myranda Kemrer put the Chargers on the board at 17:31
-The Wolverines answered right back, scoring 12 seconds after Kemrer's goal, to restore their three-goal advantage
-Wesley would eventually make it 8-1, but Lancaster Bible finished the first half with a flurry of offensive production, scoring three times in less than three minutes to cut the deficit to four
-Freshman Kaitlyn Myers scored twice in 11 seconds, while Kemrer added her second of the day to end the scoring run
-Sophomore Kaylee Boger and junior Raegan Horst picked up assists on two of the three goals
2nd Half Highlights:
-There weren't many highlights for the Chargers in the second 30 minutes of the game, as the Wolverines scored all nine of the second half goals
-Wesley led by 10 with just over 10 minutes remaining, and scored the final four goals of the game in a six-minute span over the final 10 minutes
By the Numbers: Wesley outshot Lancaster Bible, 43-13, including 30-10 in shots on goal...Lancaster Bible held a 15-9 edge in draw controls, and the Chargers also had 28 ground balls...Turnovers haunted the Chargers all day, as they committed 30...In addition to her two goals, Kemrer also had seven ground balls and nine draw controls...Junior Hannah Thompson had six ground balls...Goalie Nicolette Statuti made 12 saves in the loss for Lancaster Bible...Fallon Fore had six goals and four assists to lead Wesley.
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 1-6 all-time against Wesley...There were nine yellow cards in the game, including four for Lancaster Bible...The Chargers are now 0-3 on the road this season...Lancaster Bible has 53 draw controls through four games.
