Chargers Crush 'Cats, Earn First Win

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team earned its first victory of the season on Sunday, defeating Cazenovia, 25-14 at the Weaver Fields in Lancaster, Pa. The game was played off-campus due to poor field conditions, though it didn't seem to bother the Chargers, as they improved to 1-5 overall, and 1-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. The Wildcats dropped to 1-3 this season, and 0-1 in conference action.

1st Half Highlights:
-Cazenovia opened the scoring just 1:22 into the contest, but the Chargers responded 26 seconds later, as Hannah Thompson knotted the game at 1-1
-Lancaster Bible would score the next four goals of the game as well, as Raegan Horst scored twice, Myranda Kemrer netted a goal, and Thompson added her second of the game
-Horst completed her hat trick with 4:26 to play, and gave the Chargers an 11-5 lead
-The Wildcats quickly rattled off four straight goals however, and Lancaster Bible led just 11-9 at halftime

2nd Half Highlights:
-The Wildcats scored two of the first three goals of the second half to cut the Chargers' lead to one, 12-11, but Horst and Kaitlyn Myers scored back-to-back goals to give Lancaster Bible some much needed breathing room
-After a Cazenovia goal, Lancaster Bible scored seven straight goals over a seven minute period to pull away
-Sara Bell opened the seven-goal run, while Kemrer added three of the seven goals
-Thompson and Horst each scored twice over the final 10 minutes to cap the scoring for the Chargers
