The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team, fresh off its first win of the season on Sunday, couldn't make it two straight victories on Tuesday, as the Chargers gave up a late lead, and fell to Wilkes, 20-16 at Charger Field. The loss drops Lancaster Bible to 1-6 this season, while the Colonels improved to 3-6.
1st Half Highlights:
-Lancaster Bible's Myranda Kemrer scored twice in the opening minute of the game to give the Chargers an early 2-0 lead
-After Kemrer completed the hat trick at 23:21, Wilkes scored five of the next six goals to grab a 5-4 advantage
-Emily Morgan tied the game at 5-5 with her first-ever collegiate goal, and the Chargers would eventually take an 8-7 lead on three straight goals, two of which came from Hannah Thompson
-Wilkes tied the game at 8-8, but Lancaster Bible scored four times in the final 3:19 of the half, two coming from Raegan Horst, while Kemrer scored as time expired to give the Chargers a 12-8 halftime lead
2nd Half Highlights:
-Wilkes scored six of the first eight goals of the second half, and tied the game at 14-14 with 13:30 to play
-Horst scored two straight goals for the Chargers less than two minutes apart and the second goal, with 11:02 remaining, gave Lancaster Bible a 16-14 advantage
-The Colonels tied the game with under eight minutes to play, and then took the lead for good on a goal from Jessyca Held with 6:30 to play
-Three goals in the final 4:33 of the contest would ice the game for Wilkes
