The Lancaster Bible College baseball team won its 10th straight game on Tuesday, defeating Eastern, 7-4 in St. Davids, Pa. The victory sets a new program-record for consecutive wins, breaking a tie with the 1980 squad that won nine straight games. The Chargers are now 10-5 this season, while the Eagles dropped to 5-7.
Game Notes:
-Lancaster Bible got on the board in the top of the second, as Adam Cohick doubled down the right-field line that scored Will Welsh
-Jacob Schenck followed with a single that scored Beau Heagy, while Cohick scored a batter later when Sam Taylor hit an RBI single
-The Chargers scored once in the fourth, as Schenck was at it again, when he singled home Heagy again to give the Chargers a 4-0 lead
-After Braden Elliott scored on a throwing error to make it 5-0 in the fifth inning, Cohick hit a sacrifice fly that scored Welsh to make it 6-0 after 4 1/2 innings
-Eastern got two runs back in the sixth inning to cut its deficit to four, but Schenck gave Lancaster Bible a 7-2 lead with his third home run of the season
-The Eagles scored twice in the eighth to make it a 7-4 game, and loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the ninth, before Trevor High shut the door and earned his fourth save of the season
