The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team ran its win streak to eight matches on Friday evening, defeating SUNY Poly, 3-0 at Horst Athletic Center. The Chargers are now 18-4 overall and a perfect 5-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Wildcats dropped to 8-14 overall and 3-2 in conference action. Lancaster Bible won Friday night's match, 25-19, 25-18, 25-17.
1st Set Highlights:
-The first set was tight in the early going, as Lancaster Bible junior Nate Miller gave the Chargers a 9-7 lead with his fourth kill of the set
-SUNY Poly tied the set at 11-11, but the Chargers won seven of the next nine points and took an 18-13 advantage
-Senior Kasey Gentry had two aces during the run, while Miller added two more kills
-SUNY Poly answered right back and eventually tied the match at 19-19, but Lancaster Bible won the final six points of the set, the final one coming on a kill from junior Daniel Kreider
2nd Set Highlights:
-Lancaster Bible won seven of the first 10 points of the second set, as sophomore Kole Horst had two kills
-Leading, 9-6, the Chargers won five straight points and took a commanding 14-6 lead
-The Wildcats cut the Chargers' lead to four late in the set, but Lancaster Bible won four of the last five points, and wrapped up the set with a kill from Horst
3rd Set Highlights:
-The Chargers led, 6-5 early in the third set, and won four straight points, capped by an ace from senior

-SUNY Poly cut the Chargers' advantage to 12-10, but Lancaster Bible responded by winning six of seven points and led 18-11 after three straight Wildcats' errors
-A kill from Horst, followed by a SUNY Poly error gave the Chargers the third set, 25-17 and the match, 3-0
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible finished with 39 kills and 11 errors on 79 attempts for a 35.4 hitting percentage, while the Wildcats had 28 kills and 16 errors on 78 attempts for a 15.4 hitting percentage...Lancaster Bible had seven blocks and six aces, and held a 32-27 edge in digs...Miller finished with a match-high 15 kills, and added three blocks and four digs...Gentry had nine kills, two aces and six digs, while Horst had seven kills and seven digs...Kreider finished with five kills and two blocks, while senior
