The Lancaster Bible College softball team got into the win column for the first time this season on Tuesday, as the Chargers swept a doubleheader from Clarks Summit at Charger Field. Lancaster Bible is now 2-2 this season, while the Defenders fell to 0-2. The Chargers took game one, 12-1 in five innings, and were victorious, 10-3 in game two.

Game Notes: Lancaster Bible's bats started working early and often in game one, as the Chargers exploded for seven runs in the opening inning...After junior Zoie Senn scored the opening run on a fielder's choice, fellow junior Morgan Burkholder knocked in Katie Kleinhans to make it 2-0, and freshman Kendra Brown scored during the next at-bat on a throwing error...Sophomore Rheeana Miles tripled to score Burkholder, and after the second out, freshman Bekah Roberts singled home Miles...Freshman Alyssa Groff singled to put runners on the corners, and Senn, batting for the second time in the inning, doubled to right field that scored both runners to make it 7-0...Lancaster Bible scored four more times in the second inning, highlighted by Roberts' two-run single...The Chargers tacked on another run in the third inning on Burkholder's RBI groundout, and Clarks Summit didn't manage its first hit off freshman Nicole DeKok until the fourth inning, when the Defenders scored their only run of the game.

Game Notes: The Chargers scored in the first inning again in game two, as DeKok picked up an RBI on a fielder's choice that scored Senn...Lancaster Bible made it 3-0 in the bottom of the second as Roberts tripled to center field, which scored McCauley who had drawn a walk earlier in the inning...Roberts scored moments later on a wild pitch...DeKok tripled in the third inning to score Kleinhans, and like Roberts the inning before, scored on a wild pitch just after her triple...The Defenders got their first hit and run in the fourth inning for the second straight game, but Lancaster Bible answered in the bottom half of the inning, as Kleinhans tripled home Senn and Roberts to make it 7-1 in favor of the Chargers...Clarks Summit scored twice in the sixth inning to cut its deficit to 7-3, but again the Chargers answered in the bottom half of the inning, as Senn singled home Roberts, followed by a sacrifice fly from DeKok...Kleinhans scored on a wild pitch later in the inning to cap the scoring.
