The Lancaster Bible College softball team dropped all four games of a weekend trip to New York, as the Chargers fell to Cazenovia on Saturday and Wells on Sunday. The Chargers are now 5-27 overall and 2-12 in North Eastern Athletic Conference Play.
Cazenovia 8, Lancaster Bible 6 -- Game 1
Game Notes:
-The game was scoreless through two innings, but Cazenovia opened the scoring with four runs in the bottom of the third
-RBI singles from Katie Kleinhans and Kendra Brown pulled the Chargers to within two after the top of the fourth, but the Wildcats scored three more times in the bottom half of the inning to take a 7-2 lead
-Lancaster Bible cut their deficit to just two after a three-run fifth inning, as Zoie Senn and Nicole DeKok pulled off a double steal and Senn swiped home...Morgan Burkholder and Kleinhans added RBI singles later in the inning to make it 7-5 in favor of Cazenovia
-The Chargers got another run in the top of the sixth on a Zoie Senn double that scored her sister Marissa to make it 7-6, but Cazenovia restored its two-run lead in the bottom of the inning and the Chargers couldn't complete the comeback in the seventh

-Zoie Senn was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI...Burkholder was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI...Kleinhans was 2-for-4 as well with two RBI and a run...Brown finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Cazenovia 8, Lancaster Bible 0 -- Game 2 (6 innings)
Game Notes:
-Game two was scoreless for the first three innings, and again, Cazenovia opened the scoring with two runs in the fourth
-Kleinhans broke up the no-hitter in the top of the fifth, but was stranded on base, and Cazenovia tacked on another run in the bottom of the inning
-The Wildcats ended the game in the sixth inning with five runs on six hits, and earned the 8-0 victory

-In addition to Kleinhans' hit, Marissa Senn drew a walk in the sixth, and they accounted for the only Lancaster Bible baserunners in game two...The Wildcats' Lauren Kelleher improved to 3-0 as she allowed just the one hit and struck out seven
Wells 8, Lancaster Bible 7 -- Game 1
Game Notes:
-Lancaster Bible scored four runs in the top of the first to grab an early lead...With two outs Bekah Roberts reached base on an error and two runs scored...Kleinhans then singled Roberts home, and after stealing second base, Kleinhans scored on an RBI double by Kendra Brown
-Wells got a run back in the bottom of the first, but Lancaster Bible scored again in the top of the second on a single by DeKok that scored Zoie Senn
-Wells scored five times in the bottom of the second, as the Express sent 10 batters to the plate, and led 6-5 after two innings
-The scored stayed the same until the top of the fifth when Brown singled home Kleinhans to tie the game, 6-6
-Wells responded immediately for the third time in the game, taking a 7-6 lead in the bottom half of the fifth
-Lancaster Bible again tied the game, as the Chargers got a double from DeKok that scored Zoie Senn
-Wells re-took the lead in the bottom of the inning, 8-7, and then got the Chargers to go down in order in the seventh and record the one-run win

Wells 11, Lancaster Bible 2 – Game 2 (5 innings)
Game Notes:
-Wells scored twice in the first, and Lancaster Bible got a run back in the top of the second on Martina McCauley's RBI single that scored Kleinhans
-The Express scored in the bottom of the second to re-take a two-run lead, and then exploded for six runs in the bottom of the fourth for a 9-1 lead
-Burkholder extended the game with an RBI groundout in the fifth that scored Zoie Senn, but Wells ended the game in the bottom of the inning on a two-run home run

-Zoie Senn and DeKok were each 2-for-3…Kleinhans was 1-for-1 with a walk and a run…Rheeana Miles was 1-for-3…McCauley allowed just three earned runs, as the Chargers committed three errors.
