Bison Stampede Past Chargers

The Lancaster Bible College softball team dropped its final two road games of the season, falling to Gallaudet in a doubleheader in Washington, D.C. The Chargers lost game one, 7-6, and then fell in game two, 8-0 in five innings. Lancaster Bible is now 5-29 overall and 2-14 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Bison improved to 13-20 overall and 5-11 in conference action.

Game Notes:
-Lancaster Bible opened the scoring in the top of the first as Zoie Senn tripled and then scored on a wild pitch
-The Chargers increased their lead to 3-0 in the third inning, as Senn scored after a hit from Nicole DeKok, and Rheeana Miles scored later in the inning on a sacrifice fly to center field by Morgan Burkholder
-After the Chargers took a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning, Lancaster Bible scored two more times in the fifth inning to make it 6-0…Katie Kleinhans laid down a sacrifice bunt that scored Burkholder to make it 5-0, and Kendra Brown scored later in the inning after Marissa Senn recorded a hit
-Gallaudet erased the entire deficit in the bottom half of the fifth however, as the Bison sent 10 batters to the plate and tied the game at 6-6
-After a scoreless sixth inning, the Chargers went down in order in the seventh inning, and the Bison got a walk-off triple in the bottom of the inning, as Hannah Neild tripled home the winning run
 
Inside the Box Score:
-Zoie Senn finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while Brown was 2-for-4 with a run scored…Burkholder finished 1-for-2 with a run, and RBI…Eight different players recorded a hit for the Chargers in game one.
 
Gallaudet 8, Lancaster Bible 0 – Game 2 (5 innings)
Game Notes:
-The Bison opened the scoring and ended up scoring at least one run in each of their four times at the plate
-Gallaudet tacked on two more runs in the second, four more in the third and a final run in the fourth
-The Chargers managed just one hit over the first three innings, though they did put runners on first and second with two outs in the top of the fourth after hits from DeKok and Brown, but could not convert
 
Inside the Box Score:
-Zoie Senn, DeKok, and Brown accounted for the three hits by Lancaster Bible in game two
-Gallaudet had 11 hits in game two, led by Neild's three
-Lancaster Bible committed three errors in game two, as just four of the eight runs allowed by pitcher Martina McCauley were earned
 
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 11-7 all-time against Gallaudet…Three Lancaster Bible players are hitting over .300 this season, as Kleinhans (.326), Burkholder (.311) and DeKok (.303) lead the Chargers this season.
 
Up Next: Lancaster Bible will wrap-up its season on Saturday, as the Chargers host Penn St. Abington for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m…The Chargers will honor their lone senior, Kayla Thoune, between games one and two of the doubleheader.
