Chargers Drop Pair in New York

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team dropped its final two road games of the season this weekend in upstate New York, falling to Wells, 17-14 on Saturday and Keuka, 21-4 on Sunday. The Chargers are now 3-12 overall and 2-6 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. 

Wells 17, Lancaster Bible 14
1st Half Highlights:
-Lancaster Bible senior Myranda Kemrer opened the scoring 1:35 into the game, and after a Wells goal, Kemrer scored again, followed by Kaitlyn Myers, to give the Chargers a 3-1 lead 5:35 into the contest
-Wells would eventually tie the game at 4-4, and each time the Chargers scored later in the half, thanks to goals by Hannah Thompson and Myers' second, Wells would respond, and eventually led, 7-6 at halftime
 
2nd Half Highlights:
-The Express scored the first four goals of the second half, building an 11-6 advantage just 7:52 into the second frame
-Lancaster Bible didn't panic and scored six of the of the next seven goals, and tied the game, 12-12 as Myers completed the hat trick with 13:15 remaining…Thompson had three goals during the scoring run, while Kemrer had the other two
-Wells took the lead back, 13-12, but Kemrer scored again with 8:23 to play to knot the game at 13-13
-Mackenzie Maloney scored back-to-back goals 19 seconds apart, as Wells grabbed a 15-13 lead, but Thompson answered with a goal for the Chargers with 7:05 to play to make it a one-goal game
-The Chargers would not get any closer, as Wells scored twice in the final four minutes to clinch the game
 
By the Numbers:
-Lancaster Bible held a 31-30 edge in shots, while Wells had a 27-24 advantage in shots on goal…Wells had 31 ground balls, while the Chargers had 17…The Chargers held a 23-7 advantage in draw controls, including a 16-2 edge in the second half…Kemrer finished with six goals and an assist…Thompson had five goals and two assists, to go with 15 draw controls…Myers had three goals, while Cheyanne Seber had an assist and a ground ball.
 

Keuka 21, Lancaster Bible 4
1st Half Highlights:
-Keuka scored twice in the opening 4:26 of the game, but sophomore Hope Privitera brought the Chargers back within one with a goal at 24:47.
-Keuka scored two more times, but junior Raegan Horst scored with 13:19 remaining to cut the Chargers' deficit to 4-2
-It was all Wolves over the final 12 minutes of the first half however, as the Wolves scored nine straight goals to end the first half and take a 13-2 lead at the break
 
2nd Half Highlights:
-Keuka netted the first four goals of the second half as well, and Kemrer finally broke the goal scoring drought with a goal with 18:40 to play that made it an 18-3 game
-Thompson capped the Chargers scoring with just over 10 minutes remaining, and Keuka finished the day with two goals in a 1:09 span late in the game to produce the final score
 
By the Numbers:
-Keuka outshot the Chargers, 42-16, and held a 32-15 edge in shots on goal…Keuka had 22 ground balls, while the Chargers picked up 17…Lancaster Bible held a 14-13 advantage in draw controls…Kemrer finished with a goal and two assists…Thompson had a goal, six ground balls and five draw controls.
 
Up Next: Lancaster Bible will play its final regular season game on Saturday, Apr. 28, as the Chargers host SUNY Poly at 1 p.m. … It will be Senior Day as the Chargers honor their seniors prior to the contest.
