Nittany Lions Topple Chargers

The Lancaster Bible College women's lacrosse team dropped its third straight game on Friday afternoon, falling to Penn St. Abington, 19-14 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play. The loss drops the Chargers to 1-8 overall this season and 1-2 in NEAC play, while the Nittany Lions improved to 1-8 overall and 1-3 in conference action.

1st Half Highlights:
-Hope Privitera got the Chargers on the board just 52 seconds into the contest, as she took a pass from Raegan Horst and made it 1-0
-The Nittany Lions sandwiched four goals around a goal from Lancaster Bible's Myranda Kemrer, and led 4-2 with 17:57 to play in the first
-Hannah Thompson and Kemrer scored 44 seconds apart to tie the game at 4-4 with 17:03 remaining, but Penn St. Abington again scored four of five goals and took an 8-5 lead into halftime after a goal by Allison Felicetti with 45 seconds to play in the first half

2nd Half Highlights:
-The Chargers scored two of the first three goals of the second half, as Kaitlyn Myers and Privitera scored in the opening three minutes to cut Lancaster Bible's deficit to 9-7
-After two goals from Penn St. Abington, Thompson scored again, and Horst followed a minute later to once again bring the Chargers to within two, 11-9
-Penn St. Abington would not let the Chargers get any closer however, as the Nittany Lions scored seven of the next nine goals and took an 18-11 advantage with 7:43 to play on a goal from Michaela Mast
-Horst, Thompson and Myers all scored in the final six minutes of the game, but the Chargers could not complete the miracle comeback and lost by five

By the Numbers: Penn St. Abington outshot the Chargers, 28-4, while Lancaster Bible held a 23-11 advantage in draw controls, and a 17-13 edge in ground balls...Kemrer finished with four goals and two assists for the Chargers, while Horst had two goals and three assists...Thompson had three goals, as did Myers...Privitera finished with two goals, while Sara Bell had an assist...Goalie Nicolette Statuti made eight saves for the Chargers...Allison Felicetti led the Nittany Lions with six goals and an assist.

Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 4-6 all-time against Penn St. Abington...The Chargers are now 1-4 at home this season...Lancaster Bible has three players (Thompson, Horst and Kemrer) with double-digit assists...Friday marked the fourth straight game the Chargers have scored 12 or more goals...Friday was also the third time this season Lancaster Bible has had 20 or more draw controls in a game.
