The Lancaster Bible College softball team saw its losing streak extended to 16 games on Saturday, as the Chargers played a North Eastern Athletic Conference contest against a North Division school for the first time in program history and lost a pair to SUNY Poly at Charger Field. The Wildcats took game one, 8-1, and held off a furious Chargers rally in game two, to win 12-11. Lancaster Bible is now 2-18 overall this season and 0-4 in NEAC play, while the Wildcats improved to 4-6 overall and 2-0 conference play.
SUNY Poly 8, Lancaster Bible 1 -- Game 1
Game Notes:
-SUNY Poly scored in the top of the first, but Lancaster Bible starter Nicole DeKok worked out of trouble in each of the next two innings, and the Chargers trailed just 1-0 after three innings
-The Wildcats doubled their lead to 2-0 in the top of the fourth, but sophomore Rheeana Miles singled to center field in the bottom half of the inning, and cut the Chargers' deficit back to one, as freshman Bekah Roberts crossed home plate to make it 2-1
-SUNY Poly added an insurance run in the fifth, and then tacked on five more in the sixth to blow the game open

Inside the Box Score: Katie Kleinhans was 2-for-2 in game one, and also drew a walk…Zoie Senn was 1-for-3 with a walk, while Kendra Brown was 1-for-2 with a walk…Marissa Senn was 1-for-2 with a walk as well, and Morgan Burkholder went 1-for-4…The Chargers had seven hits, and drew six walks, but stranded 12 runners on base, which would be a re-occurring theme through both of Saturday's games…SUNY Poly had 17 hits in game one, and struck out just once.

Game Notes:
-The Wildcats built a 5-0 lead after 1 ½ innings, but the Chargers responded in the bottom of the second, as Zoie Senn hit a bases-clearing double, and Brown followed by reaching on an error, which allowed Senn to score, as the Chargers cut their deficit to one, 5-4
-SUNY Poly scored the next five runs of the game, and grabbed a 10-4 lead after four innings
-The Chargers got a run back in the bottom of the fifth to make it 10-5, but again SUNY Poly upped its lead, and took a 12-5 advantage after the top of the sixth
-Lancaster Bible chipped away at its deficit in the bottom half of the inning, as the Chargers scored three times…Miles picked up an RBI with a single to left field, while Martina McCauley followed with an RBI single of her own…Zoie Senn was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring a run in, as Lancaster Bible trailed just 12-8 after six innings
-DeKok, who had come into pitch after McCauley pitched the first four innings, retired the Wildcats in the top of the seventh, which set up Lancaster Bible's big rally in the bottom half of the inning
-Kleinhans hit a two-run single to right field to cut the Chargers' deficit to two, 12-10, and McCauley hit an sacrifice fly later in the inning to score Roberts and cut the Wildcats' lead to one…After SUNY Poly got another out, Zoie Senn drew a walk to load the bases, but Brown's hard hit ball was snagged by pitcher Taylor Hines, and she flipped the ball to Stephanie Smith at first to end the Chargers' rally and the game
Inside the Box Score: Lancaster Bible had 16 hits in game two, led by DeKok who went 3-for-4 with two runs scored…Zoie Senn was 1-for-3 with five RBI, and two walks…Kleinhans was 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI…McCauley was 3-for-4 with two RBI…Miles was 2-for-4 with two runs scored , while Roberts was 2-for-4 with a run scored…Lancaster Bible committed five errors in game two, as McCauley and DeKok allowed just five earned runs.
Information Hodge Podge: Again, this was the first time Lancaster Bible has ever played a team from the NEAC North Division in conference play, thus the Chargers are now 0-2 all-time against SUNY Poly…Lancaster Bible's 16 hits in game two are the most the Chargers have had in a game this season, and the 11 runs scored were the second-most in a game this season…Lancaster Bible drew 14 walks throughout the two games on Saturday, after drawing only 14 in its previous 11 games.
