The Lancaster Bible College softball team snapped its 16-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon, as the Chargers not only got back into the win column, but swept a doubleheader from Morrisville State and won their first two conference games of the year. The wins improve the Chargers to 4-18 overall this season, and 2-4 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Mustangs dropped to 3-11 overall and 0-6 in conference action.

Lancaster Bible 4, Morrisville State 0 – Game 1
Game Notes:
-Lancaster Bible scored all four of the game's runs in the bottom of the first, as Morgan Burkholder singled home Kendra Brown and Zoie Senn with a base hit that gave the Chargers a 2-0 lead
-Rheeana Miles followed a couple of batters later with her own two-run single as her hit to center field scored Bekah Roberts and Burkholder
-From there it was the Nicole DeKok show, as she held the Mustangs to just four hits over seven innings, including just one after the third inning
-Morrisville State threatened in the top of the sixth, but the Mustangs left two runners on and DeKok sent them down in order in the seventh to preserve the shutout

Inside the Box Score: DeKok pitched a complete game, striking out six and allowing just the four hits…She walked one and got 11 ground ball outs…Martina McCauley was 2-for-3, while Miles, Roberts, Burkholder, Zoie Senn and Marissa Senn each had a hit.

Lancaster Bible 9, Morrisville State 1 – Game 2 (5 innings)
Game Notes:
-The Chargers opened the scoring again in game two, as Burkholder singled in Zoie Senn who had walked to lead off the inning
-With the bases loaded and no one out, the Chargers couldn't plate another run however, and Morrisville State tied the game with a home run in the top of the second
-The Chargers responded in their half of the second as Zoie Senn doubled home McCauley who had drawn a leadoff walk…DeKok singled later in the inning to score Senn
-Lancaster Bible tacked on two more runs in the third, as Kendra Brown scored on an error and then the Senn sisters pulled a double steal with Zoie scoring and Marissa swiping second
-The Chargers scored four more times in the fourth inning, drawing six walks and connecting for two hits, and made it a 9-1 game on Zoie Senn's RBI single that scored Katie Kleinhans

Inside the Box Score: Zoie Senn finished 3-for-3 with a walk, two RBI and two runs scored in game two…DeKok and Burkholder were each 2-for-2 with a run scored, an RBI and a walk…McCauley finished 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI to go with a walk…The Chargers drew 10 walks in game two…McCauley, like DeKok in game one, was impressive in the circle, as she allowed just three hits, struck out one and walked two.

Information Hodge Podge: This was the first-ever matchup between the teams…Lancaster Bible is now 4-4 at home this season…The Chargers had 25 runs over their four games this weekend after having just 14 in their previous 12 games…The 10 walks drawn in game two are a season-high for Lancaster Bible.
