The Lancaster Bible College baseball team split its final two regular season games of the season on Saturday, as the Chargers defeated SUNY Cobleskill, 12-9 in game one, and then dropped game two, 5-2 in Cobleskill, N.Y. The 1-1 day sends the Chargers record to 18-13 overall and 8-7 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, though the team's record improved later in the evening with word that the Chargers would be gaining another victory from earlier in the season.
The April 6 game two contest against Penn St. Abington, which the Chargers led, 11-2 heading to the seventh inning, before the game was suspended, has been ruled a victory for the Chargers, as the teams could not find a date to complete the game prior to the end of the regular season. With the victory, the Chargers improved to 19-13 overall and 9-7 in NEAC play.Â
The 9-7 conference record clinches the fifth seed for the Chargers in next week's NEAC Playoffs. Lancaster Bible will play a NEACÂ Quarterfinal contest on Tuesday at the fourth seed, which will most likely be Keuka. The official opponent and time of the game will be released Sunday evening.
