The Lancaster Bible College women's volleyball team won its first match of the 2018 season on Saturday, as the Chargers defeated Dickinson, 3-1 after dropping a 3-1 decision to Messiah earlier in the day. Lancaster Bible is now 1-3 this season after opening the year at the Gettysburg Battlefield Classic

Recap: After winning the first set, Lancaster Bible struggled in the second, and saw Messiah take the third and fourth sets...The Falcons held a 46-39 edge in kills, while Lancaster Bible led the way in blocks, 5-3...Senior Courtney Goyak had a team-high 12 kills for the Chargers, while sophomore Aleah Heyworth had seven kills...Hannah Gipe, Bekah Roberts and Ashtyn Bouslog each had five kills for the Chargers, while junior Allison Shuey had four kills, 22 assists and six digs...Senior Hannah Thompson had 27 digs.

Recap: Lancaster Bible won a tight first set, 28-26, and then doubled its lead to 2-0 before the Red Devils took the third set...Lancaster Bible earned its first win of the year with a 25-21 victory in the fourth set...Goyak led the way again with 10 kills, while Gipe had nine kills...Heyworth and Bouslog each had eight kills, and Goyak added four blocks...Thompson set a new career-high with 28 digs, which is tied for the ninth-most in program history.
