The Lancaster Bible College men's soccer team won its third straight game on Saturday afternoon, as the Chargers defeated St. Elizabeth, 3-0 in Morristown, N.J. The Chargers improved to 3-1 overall this season, and 2-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Eagles fell to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in conference action.
Game Recap: Lancaster Bible got on the board quickly on Saturday, as sophomore
Chad Tolson scored his first goal of the season when he collected his own rebound and scored into the lower-right side of the net. The Chargers doubled their lead just over five minutes later when
Rama Mugisha took a corner kick, and sent it perfectly to the head of
Dan Bewersdorff who headed the ball into the back of the goal.
Lancaster Bible had several more offensive chances in the opening 45 minutes, but could not convert, and held a 2-0 lead at the break.
The offensive chances continued in the second half for the Chargers, and Mugisha finally converted for Lancaster Bible, as he scored at 64:09, off a pass from Tolson. The Chargers took 14 more shots in the second half, and continued to control play for a full 90 minutes.
By the Numbers: Lancaster Bible held a 28-5 advantage in shots, including a 14-0 edge in shots on goal...Lancaster Bible also had all nine corner kicks in the game...Bewersdorff led the way with six shots, while Tony Gehman and
Tommy Croke each added two shots...Both
Jake Deterline and
CJ DeMarsico saw action between the pipes for the Chargers, though neither was forced to make a save.

Tom Ardt said. "I was happy with the energy that we had today, and we created many chances going forward. Obviously a clean sheet is great too, and all the guys stepped up and contributed positive minutes today."
Information Hodge Podge: Lancaster Bible is now 3-0 all-time against St. Elizabeth...The Chargers are 2-0 on the road this season...Mugisha has now scored in back-to-back games for the Chargers...This is Lancaster Bible's first three-game winning streak since last season, when the Chargers won three straight from Oct. 21 to Oct. 25.
