Chargers Snap Skid, Beat Wells, 4-0

The Lancaster Bible College women's soccer team snapped its three-game winless streak on Sunday, defeating Wells, 4-0 at Donald H. Funk Field. The win propels the Chargers to 3-4-1 overall and 2-2-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play, while the Express fell to 1-9 overall and 0-6 in NEAC play.

Game Recap: Lancaster Bible held nearly all the possession over the 90 minutes, and began attacking the Wells' side of the field immediately. Lancaster Bible had several early shots, but each attempt either just missed the goal, or was saved by Wells goalkeeper Kayleigh Hurley who played well all day long.

The Chargers persistence and possession finally paid off in the 23rd minute, as senior Maddie Dionne worked around a defender and fired a pass to Jackie Moore who scored her second goal of the year to give the Chargers a 1-0 lead.

Lancaster Bible continued to have chance-after-chance in the first half, but couldn't convert, and kept their 1-0 lead through halftime.

Lancaster Bible doubled its lead at 69:07 when Bryanna Hoover took another pass from Dionne and drilled a shot from 20 yards out into the corner of the net for her second goal of the year.

The Chargers were then gifted their third goal of the year on an own goal, as Kiersten Hatch was awarded the goal for being the last Lancaster Bible play to touch the ball. Lancaster Bible capped the scoring with just under six minutes to play, as Karissa Akselsen was fouled in the box, and Danni DeVinney converted the penalty kick for her first goal of the season.
